BYD launches three arrows at GIIAS: Seagull launches, looks up to U9 debut, Tengshi dual car strategy deepens Southeast Asian layout
At the Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), which opened on July 23rd, BYD achieved three major strategic breakthroughs
1. The popular car model Seagull, with global sales exceeding one million, has officially landed in the Indonesian market. Its 305km range, 0.5-hour fast charging, and 2.9-meter flexible length accurately match the commuting needs of cities such as Jakarta;
On the occasion of the debut of the BYD Seagull right-hand drive version in Indonesia, our technical team has completed in-depth market research and exclusively developed for tropical climate and localization needs:
- Full range modification plan: including dashboard assembly that conforms to right-hand drive habits, wiper steering logic adjustment module
- Tropical special kit: three piece set of reinforced air conditioning system/UV resistant glass film/moisture-proof seat fabric

2. Looking up at the U9 pure electric supercar making its Southeast Asian debut, the 1300 horsepower four motor drive system and Yunnian-X intelligent body control technology have caused a sensation in the industry;
The Tengshi brand showcased the D9 flagship MPV and the Z9 new luxury model. The former has already occupied 35% of the local high-end MPV market, while the latter has opened up a new aesthetic track with the design language of "time and space gate".
Zhao Yue, General Manager of BYD Indonesia, stated that this exhibition marks the brand's transformation from "product output" to "technical standard output". It is worth noting that Seagull received over 3000 pre-sale orders before its launch, and its affordable pricing of 1.29 billion Indonesian rupiah (approximately 60000 yuan) is expected to rewrite the pattern of the A0 level electric vehicle market in Southeast Asia.
During the auto show, BYD announced simultaneously that it will add three new Tengshi brand experience centers on Java Island to strengthen its high-end service system.
BYD looks forward to working with Indonesian consumers to create a green blueprint for a "zero carbon island chain", making every trip a perfect integration of intelligent technology and sustainable concepts.
